Saudi Arabia’s Unofficial Ally, Israel
Sunday February 18, 2018 – Mark this as the day Saudi Arabia unofficially announced its strategic alliance with the Jewish state of Israel, against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Within hours of each other, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Iranian FM Mohamed Zarif and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir all spoke at the Munich Security Conference, with accusations and warnings in abundance. Despite Israel and the Saudis lack of diplomatic relations, long rumored military cooperation against a common foe was all but proclaimed on this date. Iran, Hezbollah and the various Shiite militias operating on Israel’s borders and in the Arab Gulf will now be facing a more unified opposition.
