Palestinian Authority Bans Pro-Gaza Protests
The Egypt brokered HAMAS-Fatah “Reconciliation Deal” signed between the terrorist leaders of Gaza City and Ramallah last October, was in jeopardy before its ink dried, and has completely fallen apart since. HAMAS refused to give up its vast array of weapons and security control of Gaza, resulting in Fatah’s refusal to resume governmental control of the coastal enclave, and both sides pointing the finger at each other. Mahmoud Abbas, who nearly two thirds of Palestinians believe should resign, has instituted strict gas and electricity sanctions on Gaza and withheld payments to government employees living there. Now, he is starting to face backlash in his own backyard, and has banned protests in PA controlled territories, with ever increasing HAMAS supporting populations.
Arabs, with full Israeli citizenship, have been protesting in support of HAMAS in Haifa for weeks, with Arab-Israeli Members of Knesset ensuring their ability to do so; will these same “law makers” demand Mahmoud Abbas allow HAMAS supporting protests on the streets of Nablus? If the regimes from Gaza and Ramallah are essentially at war with each other, who is Israel supposed to negotiate peace with?
