Now the Hate is Coming from Inside Congress

Share

One of the most troubling people ever elected to the U.S. Congress, at least during our lifetimes, is Rashida Tlaib (D-MI, District 12). She first became famous the night she was elected in 2018 by bragging that “we’re going to impeach the motherf****r,” referring to this country’s duly-elected president. She later proudly endorsed T-shirts printed with that infantile taunt. (Disgracefully, she also ran unopposed.)

But beyond her unhinged, juvenile conduct, the more you learn about her, the more afraid you ought to be. Her rap sheet of troubling behavior and connections has appeared elsewhere, but not recently, and generally not in one place. This is a person who should always be “in the news.”

Firstly, the circumstances of her candidacy are problematic. In addition to possible past offences, as of November of 2019, she was being investigated by the House Ethics Committee for campaign finance violations. The official report submitted to the Committee is unequivocal: she paid herself a total of $45,500 through her campaign — supposedly for “covering childcare expenses,” as she told CNN. Will she face any kind of punishment for this in the future? We don’t know.

This aside, Tlaib — a “Palestinian” whose district not surprisingly includes Muslim-majority Dearborn, Michigan — has a long history of connections not only to anti-Jewish bigots but also to actual Islamic terrorists, from whom she has never formally dissociated herself.

In 2006, she wrote an article for vile anti-Semitic racist Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam newspaper, The Final Call. In 2009, she received a Community Service Award from the Michigan branch of CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which was exposed in the 2007 Holy Land Foundation trial for funding Hamas. Not only that, between 2013 and 2014, when she was a Michigan state representative, she received $9,465 in donations from members of CAIR as well as other Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated groups. Then, when she ran for Congress in 2018, members of many of the same organizations donated a total of $28,544 to her campaign.

Her connections are also more personal. In 2015, she tweeted out an article from The Nation entitled, “Why Black Lives Matter Activists Are Showing Up for a Palestinian Woman Threatened With Deportation.” The woman in question was Rasmeah Odeh, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), who was involved in a 1969 terrorist bombing which murdered two Israeli college students. She later made her way to the U.S. while committing immigration fraud. (Despite BLM’s efforts, she was indeed deported back to Jordan.)

Odeh is also a dear friend of Jew-hating former Women’s March chair Linda Sarsour. Among much, much more, Sarsour has subtly declared stealth jihad against President Trump, had family and friends in prison in Israel for terrorism, and has expressed support for Palestinian terrorist Muhammad Allan. Tlaib happily promoted Sarsour’s book recently while wearing a shirt depicting “Palestine” where Israel should be.

Then there is Abbas Hamideh. Hamideh is a founding member of al-Awdah, the Palestinian Right of Return Coalition, an anti-Jewish organization proclaiming that Arab “refugees” have the “right” to “return” to their “occupied” land (therefore deliberately swamping out Israel’s Jewish population). He has enthusiastically tweeted support for the Iran-backed terrorist organization Hizbullah and for its murderous leader Sayid Hassan Nasrallah. There is an infamous picture of Tlaib posing with him at an official dinner party in her honor.

In the summer of 2019, Tlaib attempted to cause an international incident by shunning a congressional trip to Israel because it would not tour said “occupied” areas. Though she said she simply wanted to visit her 90-year-old grandmother in her ancestral village, her actual motives were very different. Both she and her fellow Islamic operative representative, Ilhan Omar (D-MN, District 5), had actually planned an independent trip with MIFTAH, a virulently anti-Semitic organization which even published an American neo-Nazi rant about Jewish world domination. Also, both Tlaib and Omar support the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. BDS is a campaign of economic and political terrorism against Israel, arguably America’s strongest and closest ally on earth. Israel made it illegal in 2017 for any non-citizen to enter the country who advocates its destruction in any way; therefore, both congresswomen were deservedly banned from entering.

Tlaib has also demonstrated her direct disloyalty to this country by draping herself in the Palestinian flag when she won the Michigan Democratic congressional primary in 2018. In fact, the very day she was sworn in, she summed up her entire future political career before it even began. In a characteristically childish act of contempt for the civilized world, another dear friend of hers, Jew-hating “comedian” Amer Zahr, noticed, as he then tweeted, that “there was something wrong” with the world map in Tlaib’s new congressional office. Then, to his friend Rashida’s obvious delight, he placed a white sticky note with “Palestine” written on it in red upon the map, drawing an arrow pointing at the planet’s only Jewish state.

There is only one reason a woman like this gets elected to national office, and it is not to dutifully serve her country. If indeed she actually considered America to be her country, she would have draped herself in the American flag, as plenty of proud second-generation immigrants do in an inclusive, color-blind society like ours.

Given her deeply disturbing connections to Islamic terrorism and anti-Jewish racists, her allegiances are obviously to those people’s ideologies and actions and not to the Constitution she so cheerfully swore on a Qur’an to “support and defend.” And that should scare you.
