Really Dumb Things They Said
Cori Bush Said, “The equipment the police use to brutalize us, is the same equipment they use in Israel to brutalize Palestinians”
Welcome to ATP’s, Really Dumb Things They Said. I’m Barry Nussbaum. Here you go, more dumbness from Missouri Congresswoman Cori Bush.
“I remember learning that the same equipment that the police here use to brutalize us is the same equipment they send to the Israelis to brutalize the Palestinians,” Bush said.
Of course, she didn’t mention the Hamas rockets that have been raining down on Israel all week.
“That’s harassment, that’s extortion, that’s brutalization by the heavily armed militarized presence in our community, and that’s what we fund when our government sends our tax dollars to the Israeli military,” according to Bush.
Bush’s message feeds off other anti-Israel propaganda connected to the Black Lives Matter movement, or BLM, which accuses Israel of, quote, “Apartheid, and claims that the joint work between the U.S. and Israeli forces negatively affects the African American community.”
I don’t see it, but that’s what they’re saying. Bush’s speech represents a disgusting rhetorical sleight of hand in light of the fact, well, we all know that Hamas is a terror group currently firing thousands of rockets at Israeli towns and cities, targeting civilians.
They’re intending to kill innocent civilians, including recently, a couple of days ago, a five-year-old boy. Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad continued the onslaught. Bush told Congress as she stood up in the well, “In solidarity with the Palestinian people, St. Louis deserves better representation.”
Certainly, anyone less dumb than Cori Bush would be a big improvement. Don’t you think?
