Really Dumb Things They Said
Department of State Under President Biden, Issued Guidance to Encourage Official Displays of Support for BLM
Hello, and welcome to ATP’s, Really Dumb Things, They Said. I’m Barry Nussbaum. The Department of State under President Biden has issued guidance to “all diplomatic and counselor posts,” encouraging official displays of support for Black Lives Matter, BLM.
On the one-year anniversary of George Floyd’s death on May 25th and beyond, according to a State Department source, the department wrote that it “supports the use of the term Black Lives Matter in messaging content, as well as in speeches and foreign diplomatic engagements.”
So, similar to the BLM banner, Secretary of State Antony Blinken also previously authorized embassies to fly the LGBTQ flags from May 17th through the end of June in recognition of gay pride.
Additionally, BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors, a self-described Marxist revolutionary, came under heavy fire in the media after purchasing multiple multimillion-dollar homes across the United States.
BLM put out a statement on Twitter following the reports of these property purchases, claiming the reports were narratives generated by right-wing forces intent on reducing the support and influence of a movement that’s larger than any one organization.
So, I guess that means that BLM management can steal donated money, and if you think that’s a bad thing, it’s because, well, you’re a racist. The newest State Department policy now equates our national flag with the BLM flag.
Is this the dumbest thing you have ever heard of?
